Responsibilities

Technical Project Manager leading the delivery of medium size infrastructure changes to large infrastructure Windows Operating system & Hardware refresh efforts. This role is part of a large team who provides 24x7 mission-critical Infrastructure services to the Department of Labor (DOL) in support of more than 45,000 users. The candidate will develop and execute project plans with the engineers to ensure the reliability and functionality of the environment

The candidate will manage an array of Infrastructure projects working directly with functional managers. These projects will vary in duration and be staffed with engineering team members. Basic knowledge of supporting Infrastructure based systems within an Operations enviornment is required. The candidate will perform project management functions aligning to the PMBOK to develop a project plan in compliance with the DOL's Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC) to collect requirements from the diverse customer base, perform the appropriate analysis, develop the strategic roadmap, and all associated documentation. Off-hours work may be required

The nature of projects under the Technical Project Manager direction may include:

    Develop and execute a Project Management Plan to manage all aspects of for assigned Infrastructure projects including scope, detailed project schedules, risk / issue management, staffing, quality, change, and recurring internal/client status reporting to ensure successful team delivery of technical projects
  • Lead risk identification and mitigation planning sessions, and manage risk remediation efforts
  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager to collect and analyze project deliverable quality
  • Provide Agile servant leadership to optimize performance and remove impediments for engineering teams consisting of a technical lead, engineers, and supporting roles
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across government and internal stakeholder groups
  • Support creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by ensuring they are documented and communicated to the engineering teams
  • Interact with Hardware and Software vendors to address issues when necessary
  • Use escalation standards and personal judgment to ensure timely resolution of problems


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science with 7 years experience; or 9 years of experience with a HS Diploma
  • At least seven (7) years of experience in a Project Manager role leading project teams responsible for delivering mission-critical Infrastructure based projects
  • Current PMI PMP Certification
  • Knowledge in operations, architecture, and security
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills, and the demonstrated ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Organizational Skills (ability to organize large amounts of data in a logical manner)
  • Current ITIL Certification
  • Familiarity of technical tools to manage and monitor the Infrastructure environment

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
