JOB INFORMATION

* Job Title: O&M Technician I

* Job Code: 128027

* Grade: Technical 38

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the day to day operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Power Generation facility to include equipment such as pumps, fans, compressors, filters, water treatment systems, combustion turbines, and generators.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

* Routine duties based on detailed instruction. Works under direct supervision. Responds to routine questions and problems within standards and guides. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Provides basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and to include minor programming troubleshooting of programmable logic control systems.

* Schedules and coordinates daily activities with supervisor.

* Obtain primary authorized employee (PAE) certification under the lock out tag out procedure.

* Completes and publishes calibration and testing reports for documentation purposes, to include CEMS system.

* Monitors, analyzes demineralized and cooling water chemistry tests.

* Takes corrective action and/or initiates requests for equipment repair.

* Performs basic maintenance, configuration and calibration of process and safety instrumentation utilized in the multitude of processes involved in electrical generation.

* Keeps logs, records data and verbally communicates plant conditions.

* Assist and supports Senior O&M Technicians in all facets of plant operation.

* Complete OGE Training Program.

* Identifies abnormal equipment operations.

* Monitors, operates and checks plant generation and auxiliary equipment.

* All other duties as assigned.

* Complies with all safety and regulatory requirements, both internal and external.

* Works with other craft and plant personnel as required.

* Utilizes SAP/PM system for equipment history and verification of work performed.

* Performs basic welding related maintenance.

* Operates various industrial equipment (i.e. forklift).

* Reads and interprets basic drawings and prints.

* Performs general craft tasks and uses power and hand tools to include general welding duties.

REQUIREMENTS

* High School Diploma/GED And 1 year experience in a mechanical or technical field, Or

* Associate's Degree in a mechanical or technical discipline; Or

* A certificate of completion from a vocational trade institution in a mechanical or technical field, Or

* Prior military service for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214.

WORKING CONDITIONS

* Will be required to complete training Process.

* May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.

* Obtain or maintain required certifications.

* May be required to lift fifty (50) pounds or more.

* May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet, underground and in confined spaces.

* May be required to work non-standard work schedules to include on-call and call-outs.

* May require travel.

* May work under hazardous conditions where physical danger exists due to mechanical equipment.

* May be required to work overtime and weekends and holidays.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

* Knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and the use of personal protective equipment.

* Knowledge of basic math.

* Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and familiarity working with mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, electric motors, air compressors, valves, welding, fabrication, construction, pipefitting, etc.).

* Ability to use common purpose hand tools and other materials of various craft trades.

* Ability to work with minimal supervision, following approved work methods and standard testing practices.

* Computer skills with knowledge of MS Office Suite applications.

* Ability to adjust and adapt across varied working conditions and evolving business needs.

* Ability to interact effectively and professionally with team members, leaders, and customers.

* Ability to troubleshoot basic problems, and resolve effectively.

* Ability to understand and comply with company policies and operating procedures.

* Basic understanding of plant and equipment systems/processes.

* Ability to acquire lock out tag out (LOTO) qualification and proficiency in all plant systems.

* Ability to adopt and practice IIF (Incident and Injury Free) philosophy.

* Ability to perform basic maintenance and manual tasks.

* Ability to communicate effectively in speech and writing.

SALARY RANGE

$56,139 - $70,096
