Carpenter/Locksmith

The Carpenter/Locksmith position is responsible for all duties included but not limited to: Installs, repairs, modifies, and opens a variety of locking mechanisms found on doors, desks, compartments, mobile equipment, safes, and vaults. Examines locking mechanism and installs new unit or disassembles unit and replaces worn tumblers, springs, and other parts, or repairs them by filing, drilling, chiseling, and grinding. Opens door locks by moving lock-pick in cylinder or opens safe locks by listening to lock sounds or by drilling. Changes combination by inserting new or repaired tumblers into lock. Works on and services automatic doors. Troubleshoot push buttons, badge readers, door sensors, photo eyes, automatic closures and openers. Shall have working knowledge of multimeter and how to identify control circuits and hardware for automatic door operations. Experience must be at the journeyman level. Carpentry services include, but are not limited to, the design, construction, installation and repair of metal and wooden fixtures and structures such as cabinets, furniture, shelving, doors, plaques, and other custom wood products. Other duties include, but are not limited to, framing and finish work, painting, staining, etc. Monitors subcontractor performance as assigned, conducts jobsite troubleshooting and performs primary project layout and carpentry production.
