  • Portneuf Medical Center is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma and tertiary care center and home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a pharmacist, will assist in the technical, non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing and assist in pharmacy operations.
  • Trained in the compounding of non-sterile medications in accordance with USP 795 and other regulatory agencies and organizational policies.
  • Prepare sterile intravenous admixtures aseptically and in accordance with USP 797/800, State Board of Pharmacy regulations and organizational policies.
  • Accurately restock and replenish pharmacy with inventory from orders as well as medications received from returns from floor or automated dispensing machines.
  • Maintain the pharmacy in a neat, organized and clean manner, restocking areas with supplies as needed.
  • Ensure all expired, damaged, or compromised medication in pharmacy, automated machines, and floor stock are removed and segregated from active inventory.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of activities in accordance with policy, and files appropriate documentation records in a neat and retrievable manner.
  • Manage cabinet inventory, review and adjust par levels, and monitor expiration dates.
  • Monitor and review daily batch reports, such as restock reports, stock out reports, all station events, discrepancies, overrides, ordered meds not loaded, etc.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Active Registered Pharmacy Technician or Intern in good standing with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • One year previous hospital pharmacy technician experience.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
  • Current BLS.
