This role is for a Systems Engineer in the Integration and Test team, supporting our mission to return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. You will work at the intersection of program management, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality organizations, improving team effectiveness and coordination, and ensuring that the right people are working together to solve problems and deliver results on time. Assignments can range from supporting component test, subsystem integration activities, and testing coordination. In early project phases, you may ensure the schedule includes all component testing requirements. In later phases, you will coordinate internal and external stakeholders, manage changes, and resolve unexpected problems in support of component or subsystem builds, subsequent integration into test facilities and vehicles, and test activities. As the primary point of contact for component test, you must enjoy solving communication and organizational problems, earning trust, and improving the overall performance of all teams involved. We are seeking a self-motivated and highly organized individual who can work with minimal direction and coordinate teams in the successful execution of engineering integration activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the single threaded leader for component test for internal testing priorities, including scheduling testing and hardware build up, coordinating with Responsible Engineers, Test Engineers, and Test Facilities, tracking POs, and coordinating/assembling necessary test documentation and review to ensure testing objectives and milestones are met.

  • Work with the component test teams including but not limited to: Fluids, Thermal, Structures, Mechanisms, Avionics, EPS, GNC and Crew and Life Support Systems to ensure the test team is well aligned with the product teams on testing priorities.

  • Represent the Lunar I&T team in discussions with the Planning organization to ensure Lunar I&T critical milestones are embedded in the Integrated Master Schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!

  • BS in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or related technical discipline

  • 2+ years of test engineering experience

  • 1+ years of project engineering or project manager experience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills

  • Experience working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Desired:

  • Experience with MS Project, P6 or similar.

  • Experience with space vehicle component or integrated vehicle testing including structural, vibe, acoustic, modal, thermal, EMI/EMC, performance, leak, proof, shock

  • Cryogenic systems experience

  • Experience with participating in NASA technical reviews

Shift and Schedule:

  • Ability to work multiple shifts and weekends with extended hours during critical test operations.

Travel:

  • Travel of 25% during planning and probable travel of 75% during periods of integration and test to multiple offsite locations.

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $96,480.00-$135,072.00
