Facilities Support Technician- MGT

The Facilities Support Technician will be responsible for performing limited aspects of building maintenance and office administration such as: shipping and receiving, mail room operation, liaising with building property management, preventative maintenance as scheduled; basic plumbing installation; identifying remediation tasks required for the building, and issuing and tracking Work Orders for those repair tasks, and routine maintenance and inspection duties (fire extinguishers and Automatic External Defibrillators-AEDs), stocking of office supplies and refreshments in prescribed locations within the office.

This position performs under the direct supervision of the Facilities Supervisor.

Detailed Description:

  • Perform prescribed inspections on machinery, equipment, and the building or grounds as required.
  • Open and track maintenance Work Orders for facility repairs.
  • Supervise and escort third party contractors in maintenance or deliveries.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Monitor contractor performance and work closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications.
  • Maintain office supply and refreshment inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; placing and expediting orders; and verifying receipt.
  • Act as a contact for all regional personnel for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies, and repairs).
  • Follow all Company policy, processes, and controls in performing assigned duties.
  • Performs other related duties as required or deemed necessary.

Job Requirements:

  • Basic computer skills in MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook as well as other business systems as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Frequently use a variety of hand and power tools to perform a range of mechanically oriented functions including independent use of heavy-duty handheld and long-handled tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment
  • Listen for unusual noises that signify equipment and machinery problems.
  • Accurate recall of information over short and long-term memory
  • Must be able to work closely with others and under deadlines including time-sensitive response situations.
  • Stay alert and focused including during occasional extended work periods.
  • Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to promptly give, and follow, directions when working with others.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed/required; be available for callouts (evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays); and travel as needed for meetings, training, seminars, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years of experience in an office environment
  • Must have and maintain valid state-issued driver's license, be eligible to drive a Company vehicle and meet the requirements of the Company's vehicle program, policy and/or guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in facility or property management and maintenance, including HVAC, Electrical systems, and Plumbing.

Working Conditions:

This position requires the person to work in both office locations and on occasion, outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold / heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. The Technician will be occasionally exposed to the typical conditions of the local area. The Technician must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties
