Software Test Engineer, Mid

Key Role:

Work in tandem with the software development team to validate, document, test, and deploy applications. Demonstrate expertise in identifying and preventing defects in products and services on continuous basis and work on the correction of any defects found with software engineers, system engineers, and DevOps engineers. Avoid problems when delivering solutions to customers. Use automation tools and techniques to achieve these objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience as a software tester

  • Experience with the creation of test cases, test suites, requirements matrices, and end-of-test reports

  • Experience in developing automated application test scripts with industry tools, including tools, such as Selenium or Functional Tester

  • Experience in developing automated API test scripts with industry tools, including SoapUI or Postman

  • Experience with contributing to the delivery of automated testing plans, performance test plans, test reports, UAT plans, traceability matrices, and testing artifacts

  • Experience with analyzing and documenting software test results

  • Experience with designing, implementing, tailoring, and documenting automated test frameworks used on testing projects

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with software development using languages, including Java and Python

  • Experience with Agile SDLC and the integration of automated testing into a CI/CD pipeline, including Git and Jenkins

  • Experience with developing performance test scripts and scenarios using industry tools, including HP LoadRunner or Performance Center, JMeter, or other tools

  • Experience with developing data integrity test scripts on databases, including Oracle and PostgreSQL

  • Ability to manage discrepancies identified during testing and collaborate with the software development team to resolve software bugs

  • Ability to set testing schedules and provide progress or status to project management and client stakeholders

  • Foundation or Advanced Tester Certification

  • Automated Test Tool Certifications

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $54,000.00 to $123,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
