POSITION SUMMARY:

Twin Cities PBS (TPT) is one of the most innovative public media organizations in the country. Every day, TPT uses the power of media to advance local storytelling, spur engagement and learning, help young people succeed and support adults in the pursuit of lifelong learning.

This role ensures that the TPT building is well run, welcoming, safe and appropriately staffed and equipped. It is to ensure that all activities in the TPT building are well organized, well managed, and well executed.

Hourly Pay Range: $18.00/hr to $20.00/hr in additional to company provided benefits.

Schedule: 40 hours per week, 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

Onsite Work Environment: Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Twin Cities Metro area and report to onsite office five days per week.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

CUSTODIAL AND PRODUCT SERVICES



  • Works to ensure that products/services are of the highest quality, delivered in a timely manner, and meet client expectations.
  • Knowledge of janitorial equipment, and processes to maintain many different types of surfaces.
  • Perform daily custodial and maintenance tasks to ensure our TPT building is kept clean and in working order.
  • Experience in using and maintaining assigned power equipment and hand tools such as: auto scrubbers, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.
  • Assist with inventory control and security.



BUILDING MAINTENANCE



  • Perform daily custodial and maintenance tasks to ensure that the tpt physical building is kept clean and in working order.
  • Able to pinpoint maintenance issues, isolate them, and report them to the Building Services Supervisor.



SPECIAL PROJECTS



  • Assist all departments with projects such as building moves & furniture assembly for ergonomic needs.
  • Assist with the setup and clean-up of facilities for meetings, trainings, conferences, events, etc.
  • Able to understand and carry out all policies such as OSHA rules, health and safety regulations and guidelines, etc.



COMMUNICATION



  • Maintain the established levels of custodial supplies through timely communication of purchasing needs and restocking.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 or more years' experience in the janitorial field.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm in a variety of circumstances and have superior customer service skills
  • Knowledgeable in computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, and Teams.
