Overview

We are seeking an Estimator II that will have the opportunity to assist with multiple projects at once. This role will sit primarily in the office, but may travel to the project job sites meeting with the project teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

    Leads detailed reviews of civil, architectural, and structural subcontractor's budget pricing; obtains and presents unit pricing data
  • Outlines clarifications and qualifications within an estimate
  • Secures and contacts sources for cost estimates for all specialty items
  • Identifies indirect costs and General Condition items within estimate
  • Possess and applies knowledge of unit prices and the material/labor components
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing
  • Produces manpower estimates to coincide with construction estimate
  • Compiles complete estimate/bid package breakdown based on input from others
  • Establishes estimating protocols for specific types of documentation
  • Use of Gilbane's Baseline estimating playbook and tools
  • May be required to assist with tasks typically assigned to more junior positions

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 3-5 years of relevant construction estimating experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of On-Screen Take-off, Destini, and Site work software tools for take-offs
  • Ability to complete quantity takeoffs for assigned divisions or building components
  • Ability to obtain and scope trade contractor budget pricing proposals
  • Ability to provide qualifications and clarifications for items that were quantified
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Understanding of Contract Document and Specifications
  • Knowledge of applying unit costs to quantity takeoff for discipline specific estimates
  • Ability to assist the estimating lead with the compilation of the estimating deliverables

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
For Arlington, VA this ranges from $92,400.00 - $127,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
