Company Overview:
Our client is a rapidly growing renewable energy company that is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic leadership and drive financial excellence. This is a unique chance to join a fast-growing $100M company and significantly impact its future success.
Onsite requirements: 5 days / week in LA. Candidate must be located in southern California or willing to relocate.
Comp details - base salary band of $250k - $325k, and a minimum performance-based bonus of 35% - 40%.
What you'll be doing:
  • Leading the Finance department, covering Capital Markets, Project Finance, FP&A, and Accounting.
  • Recommend, develop and implement short and long-term strategic financial objectives of the Company to manage growth and maximize returns, including, but not limited to, financial investments, budget ideas and initiatives, tracking and managing cash flow, and leading financial planning efforts with the Executive Team and Board of Directors.
  • Lead the accounting and finance departments, ensuring accuracy, controls and credibility of financial operations, cash flow and financial reports (by operation, function and consolidated).
  • Establish budgets with functional leaders, Executive Team and Board, and provide periodic and timely financial forecasts, along with analysis and recommendations.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of business goals, objectives, initiatives, new programs or strategies and regulatory changes.
  • Working with the Executive Team, help to identify short- and long-term business needs (including, but not limited to, personnel, capital investments, inventory, etc.), propose solutions, and advise on the financial implications of, proposed and actual business activities and initiatives.
  • Collaborating with the executive team (CEO) to develop company strategies and goals.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with financial institutions and capital providers.
  • Recruiting, training, and developing the finance team, and managing performance reviews.
  • Ensuring robust governance structures to enhance operational execution and shareholder value.
  • Directing due diligence, term sheet negotiations, and documentation with finance providers; Crafting and executing strategies for capital raising and investor relations management.
  • Implementing financial processes for performance management, strategic planning, and profitability analysis.

What you'll need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or similar related field; MBA or CPA desirable but not necessary
  • Prior experience as a CFO (or divisional CFO / VP of Finance) of a $100M-$200M organization
    • The company is open to considering a controller aspiring to be a CFO for this role; however, direct industry experience is required (renewable energy or EPC sector)
  • 10+ years in progressively responsible financial and operational leadership roles
  • Proven ability to lead diverse stakeholder groups, including the executive team, partners, vendors, and customers.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with the executive team.
  • Initiative, persistence, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Prior experience with M&A transactions and post-acquisition integration.
  • Experience with early- to mid-stage funding strategies and employee compensation models.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
