A.O. Smith Water Treatment based Appleton, Wisconsin, is A. O. Smith's water quality solutions provider with a complete line of residential and commercial products and systems for a wide variety of applications, including solutions for problem well water. The A.O. Smith Water Treatment products are sold under the Water-Right, Evolve, WaterCare, Sanitizer Series, Impression Series and CustomCare product brands. In addition to its advanced and innovative product solutions, A.O Smith also has a retail facility, Clean Water Center, and a state-certified lab, Clean Water Testing LLC, specializing in water analytical services.

Primary Function

Maintains facility repairs including minor plumbing, electrical, and basic general maintenance responsibilities by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

Preventive Maintenance / Miscellaneous Repair

  • Service Motors, compressors, etc.
  • Handle electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or HVAC issues requiring some independent judgment.
  • Make recommendations or assists in scheduling and/or performance of PMs.

Machine and Facility Repair / Projects

  • Work with outside contractors on major electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or HVAC issues, including any rebuilding.
  • Make recommendations and follows through on the installation, programming, or repairing of automated machinery and equipment.

Other

  • Responsible for general safe practices and cleanliness of work area and facility
  • Responsible for quality and quantity of work performed.
  • Responsible for any other duties as assigned by supervision, either from communication through the department Leader or directly.
  • May advise or provide instruction to others regarding projects and duties.

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing maintenance or related environment experience.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and pneumatics systems preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing fixtures and systems.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Certified in at least three of the following: welding, electrical, hydraulics, HVAC, or pneumatics systems.
  • May substitute experience while working towards certification requirements.
