Inside the Role

The Driver Experience HMI Implementation Team is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer who will support the Warning Data Base owner as well as develop software for HMI ECUs for Daimler Truck vehicles including diesel, fuel cell, and battery electric along with conventional and autonomous operated vehicles.

Position offers a starting salary range of $67,500-86,500 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Support the Warning Data Base owner with coordinating the stakeholder (30%)
  • Support the Warning Data Base owner with implementing, and testing (30%)
  • Support the Warning Data Base owner with improving the related process and tool chain (20%)
  • Support the development of Android applications as part of our in vehicle infotainment system incl. testing and debugging (10%)
  • Ensure stability, flexibility and scalability at the same time
  • Align feature and system requirements with the related groups
  • Create and maintain associated documentation
  • Work closely with other global Daimler Truck business units considering global timezones
  • Plan, execute and track tasks related work packages, schedules, and collaboration with (global) stakeholders
  • Apply proven engineering principles, industry knowledge and the knowledge of latest technology and methods

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 0-2 years of experience.
  • Experience with data bases
  • Expert level with at least on programming language
  • Experience with development of Android applications
  • Experience with agile methods
  • Version management and configuration tools Subversion, GIT, Jira, Jenkins
  • Must be well organized, able to handle multiple detailed tasks
  • Detail oriented, reliable, and self-motivated
  • Strong interpersonal skills - oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Experience with other programming languages (MATLAB/Simulink/TargetLink, C/C++, Python)
  • Knowledge of Commercial Vehicle systems
  • Languages: English (fluent); German (Intermediate) preferred; additional language(s) appreciated
