Description

The Assistant Manager, Database and Online Operations is independently responsible for key aspects of the Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation (JCCF) operations and database management. This involves activities associated with the research and management of prospective donors. Provides organization with key information and tools to effectively build relationships with donors and manage fundraiser portfolios. Provides performance metrics and consultation. This includes management of systems used for fundraising, of which tens of millions of dollars are received on a yearly basis.

The incumbent will also complete operations activities, database upkeep, provide online fundraising and special gift support. The incumbent plays an active ongoing role in ensuring all database workflows are consistent and up to date and that all JCCF employees are trained on Raiser's Edge / Raiser's Edge NXT and online tools. The Assistant Manager, Database and Online Operations is also responsible for all donor recognition coordination, including online and on-site.

Works with senior professionals to develop and coordinate prospect development initiatives for development. Works with senior professionals to produce moderately complex research, briefings, analysis and reports for fundraising team. Independently contributes to planning efforts for programs or research projects of moderate scope and / or complexity. Identifies process inefficiencies or bottlenecks in activity logistics.

The UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCLA JCCC) is one of just 56 cancer centers in the United States to hold a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation as a comprehensive cancer center. This designation is reserved for cancer centers with the highest achievements in cancer research, clinical care, education, and community-focused activities. As such, it ranks the UCLA JCCC among the top centers in the nation. The Assistant Manager, Database Operations will report Directly to the Director of Operations and Annual Fund of the Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation (JCCF).

Salary: $30.56 - $60.82 hourly

Qualifications

Required:


  • Bachelor's Degree or a related field plus a minimum of two years progressive experience in Fundraising systems and CRM management or a combination of equivalent education and experience/training.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple projects and complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to effectively assess processes and make recommendations for improvements over time.
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills to for reports and data entry, including online content utilizing correct grammar, syntax, punctuation.
  • Skill and comfort with fundraising activities and strategies
  • Ability to learn new systems that are used in the JCCF and UCLA, such as databases, email platforms, and online recognition software
  • Strong communication skills to convey, both orally and in writing, the fundraising mission of the JCCF and research progress and goals of the JCCC.
  • Ability to work overtime, evenings and weekends for special events, projects and meetings both on and off campus. Regular work hours are Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple projects and complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness with minimal supervision.
  • Possess strong internet research skills with the ability to find and compile interesting and relevant content (blog posts, news items, photos, video, etc.).
  • Intranet and Internet skills to research problems and obtain information.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, donors, students, visitors, vendors, volunteers, the public, and other offices.
  • Knowledge of UCLA procedures, policies resources.
