Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Developer with 9 to 13 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience React JS and Node Js in backend-middleware context. Experience using GraphQL is an advantage. Experience in Property and Casualty Insurance is a plus. This is a hybrid role with day shifts and no travel required. The candidate will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our software solutions ensuring they meet the standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of software solutions using React JS Node js and possibly Graphql
  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle from requirement analysis to deployment and maintenance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design and ship new features.
  • Ensure the performance quality and responsiveness of applications.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs to maintain code quality.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for software solutions ensuring they are up-to-date and comprehensive.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain competitive.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather and understand requirements translating them into technical specifications.
  • Implement security and data protection measures to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Participate in agile development processes including sprint planning daily stand-ups and retrospectives.

Qualifications

  • Must have extensive experience in React JS and Node JS
  • Nice to have experience/knowledge in Graphql
  • Nice to have experience in Property and Casualty Insurance domain.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Must have a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
  • Must have experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have a strong understanding of software development best practices.
  • Must have experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Must have a strong understanding of web development principles and technologies.
  • Must have the ability to write clean maintainable and efficient code.
  • Must have experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.

Certifications Required

Certified GraphQL Developer Certified Node.js Developer Certified React Developer

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until Jan 22, 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $112,000 - $150,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
