The Project Manager is a full-time position responsible for providing overall project accountability and management to all phases of Commercial and designBUILD projects of Morton Buildings, Inc., including initial qualification, budgeting, design development, scope definition, and construction. The Project Manager guides the project team thru the designBUILD Project Delivery System process with the goal of completing projects safely, on time, and on budget. - Manages the designBUILD project delivery process from concept to completion for Commercial and designBUILD projects; serving as the subject matter expert for project teams consisting of Sales Consultants, Architects, Engineers, Superintendents, and construction personnel; leading and guiding project teams through the project lifecycle.
- Gathers project requirements and engages with Architects, Engineers, outside consultants, and other appropriate personnel to create and develop project concepts, drawings, scopes, and budgeting to generate proposals that meets client expectations.
- Maintains project construction documentation such as schedule of values and owner contracts; overseeing submittal approvals, change orders and other necessary project records; communicating project changes and progress when needed.
- Monitors project progress, ensuring project stays on schedule, within budget, and work meets quality standards; managing project risks through engagement of appropriate personnel to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise.
- Manages subcontractor and vendor procurements for projects; soliciting subcontractors, awarding contracts, and coordinating payments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction related field (Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management) or an Associate degree and equivalent years of relevant experience
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent follow through
- Promotes teamwork and demonstrates leadership skills
- Expert-level knowledge of project planning software (e.g. Microsoft Project) and ability to develop coherent plans
- Familiarity with construction and project management systems ( e.g. Procore )
- Ability to establish workplace environments that are safe, organized, productive, and profitable
- Self-starter with a positive, willing to learn attitude
- Willingness and ability to travel
