In the role of Environmental Scientist II, we'll count on you to
Collect project-related data, which may include research, conducting surveys for listed species, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, field investigations for wetlands, land use, etc
Assimilate and manage data
Prepare constraints mapping
Define the level of environmental analysis required
Conduct environmental impact assessments
Perform complex assignments, making independent decisions on problems and methods
Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings
Assist public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition and compliance
Work independently on medium-size projects, or assist more-senior scientists on larger projects
Perform other related duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Environmental studies, Hydrogeology, or closely related field
Practical experience with Michigan Part 115 & 201 Regulations and working with EGLE
Practical experience with remediation
Practical experience with EPA CCR Rule and working with EPA
Experience with statistical analysis of data
Surfer, GIS, gINT, graphing skills
Prior consulting experience
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER and current 8-hour annual refresher

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
- 5 years technical and/or field experience preparing environmental documents
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Strong environmental writing and communication skills
- Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
