Job Summary

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our culinary team as Cooks at Levels 1, 2, and 3. Each level offers opportunities to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preparing high-quality meals while following food safety standards and maintaining cleanliness. These positions are ideal for individuals passionate about food and eager to develop their culinary skills.

Key Responsibilities:

As a catering cook at Levy Restaurants, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while adhering to established recipes and presentation standards. Your role will include utilizing advanced knife skills for food preparation, such as chopping, slicing, dicing, and filleting, to ensure consistency and precision. You will be tasked with executing large-scale catering orders, ensuring that food is prepared to perfection and served on time. You will follow recipes, adjust cooking methods based on dietary needs, and ensure food is of the highest quality in both taste and presentation. Maintaining food safety standards will be a priority, and you will ensure that ingredients are properly handled, stored, and cooked. Additionally, you will assist in preparing and organizing kitchen stations before events, ensuring all necessary equipment and tools are in place. You will work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service, managing multiple stations during high-volume times. Your responsibilities will also include assisting with inventory management, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and ensuring kitchen equipment is in proper working order. Above all, you will adhere to health and safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure that all food is prepared and stored safely.

General Requirements for All Levels:

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and game days.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in a high/cool-temperature environment.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality food and service.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus!

Qualifications: Level 1

  • 4+ years of professional cooking experience, preferably in high level catering events or hospitality.
  • Advanced knife skills and proficiency in cooking techniques.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.

Qualifications: Level 2

  • 2+ years of professional cooking experience, preferably in catering or hospitality.
  • Proficiency in fundamental cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen safety protocols.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Qualifications: Level 3

  • 1+ year of kitchen or food service experience required, preferably in catering or hospitality.
  • Strong knife skills and basic knowledge of kitchen tools, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and follow instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions.
  • A passion for cooking and willingness to learn.
