  • SolidWorks or similar CAD experience with best practices for part design, advanced assemblies, complex configuration management
  • AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical experience
  • Previous experience in mechanical design, preferably in I&C
  • Product Data Management (PDM) experience
  • Good communication skills



Your Opportunity

This full-time role is about making an impact on people's lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As an I&C Hardware Designer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Business Unit. We are seeking an individual who can complete design assignments with originality, ingenuity, and development of new methods. This position will work directly with our hardware engineers on hardware related engineering tasks. Your work will include:



  • Designing mechanical assemblies and components using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Creating drawings in SolidWorks for the assemblies and components, including component selection, bill of materials, applying revision control using SmartTeam or SolidWorks PDM
  • Performing electrical design related to the cabinet assemblies, developing power wiring drawings for components and assemblies


This position requires occasional/sporadic travel.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $34.00 - $44.23 per hour, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
