Summary

Responsible for improving work force productivity and work quality through planning and coordination of manpower, parts and material and equipment access. Also, responsible for working with Operations and Maintenance performing long and short-range planning, scheduling and coordinating all planned maintenance work performed on the plant site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform short-range and long-range planning for Garland production.

  • Prepare bid-specifications for outage needs (outside labor and/or outside materials, and necessary parts) to accomplish outage tasks.

  • Ensure priority and requested completions are realistic and provide practical lead time.

  • Visit job sites and analyze jobs in the field.

  • Create Bill of Materials.

  • Maintain accurate records of equipment history, maintenance activities, and performance metrics using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other relevant software.

  • Create labor deployment plan using contract as well as in house resources, GANNT bar chart or similar tool to help convey task sequencing to assigned crews.

  • Assemble prints, sketches, pictures, special procedures, specifications, sizes, tolerances and other references.

  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to develop comprehensive maintenance plans for mechanical equipment, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.

  • Serve as liaison between Maintenance and Operations.

  • Review master production schedule and work orders.

  • Revise schedules according to work order specifications.

  • May be assigned to work at any GP & L Production Facility

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 months to 1 year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency

  • 3 years experience

  • Ability to maintain and answer a phone 24-7

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience in Power Plant Mechanical and Maintenance planning

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Considerable knowledge of parts and materials used in Mechanical maintenance

  • Skill in job scheduling

  • Skill in utilizing Microsoft Office

  • Skill in utilizing Microsoft Project

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid Class C Texas driver's license or ability to achieve a Texas Driver's license.
