David Evans and Associates (DEA) is seeking an Energy Market Leader, Power to spearhead our Power market strategy. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to drive DEA's Energy Business Unit's (EBU) growth in delivering comprehensive, multidisciplinary services to federal, publicly- and investor-owned utilities, and industrial clients.

For over 40 years, DEA has been at the forefront of energy projects, providing integrated design and project development solutions that meet the technical, financial, and political objectives of power grid and renewable energy facilities.

The Role You'll Play:

As the Energy Market Leader, Power, you will:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the regional strategic business plan for the energy market, focusing on power utilities. Collaborate with the Energy Business Leader to align near-term and long-term objectives, ensuring the EBU achieves both short- and long-term goals.

  • Business Development: Drive business development initiatives, including identifying and pursuing new opportunities, leading proposal development, and negotiating contracts. Leverage existing relationships and cultivate new ones to expand DEA's market presence.

  • Client Relationship Management: Foster and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and delivering solutions that exceed expectations. Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring client satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and coach Client Team Leaders, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Attract, develop, and retain top talent to support the growth and expansion of the EBU.

Your Impact:

Your leadership will directly influence DEA's growth trajectory in the power utilities sector. By developing and executing strategic initiatives, you will enhance our market share, drive profitable growth, and solidify DEA's reputation as a leader in energy infrastructure solutions.

About You:

You are a dynamic, strategic thinker with a proven track record in business development and client management within the Architecture & Engineering Industry's power delivery, renewable energy, or related markets. Your exceptional communication and leadership skills enable you to inspire teams and build lasting client relationships. You are adept at navigating complex projects and have a deep understanding of the energy market landscape.

Skills & Expertise We're Seeking:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years in the engineering and design sector, with at least 10 years in business leadership roles managing projects and developing client relationships in power delivery, specifically in transmission, substation, distribution or storage.

  • Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the power delivery sector, with established relationships with decision-makers and influencers at power utilities within the Mountain West Region and beyond.

  • Leadership Acumen: Demonstrated ability to lead teams to achieve sales and business development goals, with a focus on strategic planning and execution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Credentials: Professional Engineer (PE) license.

  • A&E Industry/Consulting Engineering Experience: Demonstrated track record of leading business development and growing market share at an A&E consulting firm.
