Provide exceptional customer service to our members, serve our team members in their area of wellness practice and serve as assistant to Coliseum staff.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet members and guests and respond to questions and requests.
  • Answer and return phone calls.
  • Monitor Coliseum email and respond accordingly.
  • Ensure towels and washcloths are washed, dried, folded and stored.
  • Ensure towel and washcloth quality is maintained by inspecting and discarding damaged towels and washcloths upon manager approval.
  • Member laundry is high priority. Ensure our member's laundry is washed, dried, folded in their bag and ready for use. Minimum of 24-hour turnaround.
  • Throughout the day, ensure Locker rooms are fully stocked with towels (sweat towels, wash clothes and large towels), showers are stocked (body wash, shampoo & conditioner), and all counter accessories & amenities are stocked (deodorant, hairspray, lotion, hair dryers, etc.); monitor inventory and report when items are low, and reorders are needed.
  • Straighten locker room and put away appliances / accessories at regular intervals throughout the day.
  • Hourly, circulate the locker room areas to replenish amenities.
  • Clean and dust mop the areas immediately adjacent to all equipment at regular intervals throughout the day.
  • Vacuum upstairs gym floor area and studios weekly.
  • Sweep pool deck weekly.
  • Clean equipment several times daily, paying special attention to touch surfaces such as handles, heart rate sensors, yoga mats and high areas of traffic.
  • Replace weights and accessories that are left out, circulating hourly.
  • Monitor exercisers and ensure safety of members and equipment.
  • Ensure the environment is safe for participants by circulating and proactively monitoring for safety concerns.
  • Place standard "out of service" sign on malfunctioning equipment.
  • Keep reception area neat and tidy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PERSONAL TRAINING:

  • If fully trained and licensed, provide one-on-one and small group personal training to members upon request Wellness Programming.
  • Service and support in a fitness and wellness focused environment. Responsibilities include creating programming, leading challenges, and familiarity tools for promotions and engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS and WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of business service functions.
  • Knowledge of related computer applications.
  • Previous related experience helpful.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiar with or experienced with CANVA or similar promote tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to lift weights (at least 45 lbs.), ability to bend, stoop, kneel, stretch & reach
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Knowledge of health and fitness /certifications a plus CPR or AED Certified.
  • Anticipate schedule demands and manage time effectively.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • FINGER DEXTERITY: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
  • TALKING: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately,
  • loudly, or quickly.
  • AVERAGE HEARING: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
  • REPETITIVE MOTIONS: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and /or fingers.
  • AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).

MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:

  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and to deal with problems facing a few variables.
  • MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to perform basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing two-digit numbers; the four basic arithmetic operations with money, and operations with units such as inch, foot, yard,
  • ounce and pound or their metric counterparts.
  • LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to use passive vocabulary of 5,000 - 6,000 words; read at an average rate; define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning, spelling, pronunciation, and proper use.
  • Ability to write complex sentences, using proper punctuation, adjectives
  • and adverbs.
  • Ability to communicate in complex sentences, using normal word order with present or past tenses and good vocabulary.
