Description
The Town of Erie's Human Resources Department is on the search for our newest team member, to join us as our Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist. Our team highly values collaboration, accountability and a dedication to our Town's shared mission of delivering exceptional public service with honesty, efficiency, and compassion. A successful L&D Specialist with our Town will be a proactive relationship-builder, who can be a champion for our current L&D tools (including Paycom Learning, Insights Discovery and Crucial Conversations) with the ability to bring fresh content and tools to our employees. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, as there will be numerous opportunities to collaborate with both internal subject matter experts and external facilitators. Anticipated Work Schedule: Full-time; Monday-Friday;40 hours per week with some nights and weekends as needed. Work Location: Erie Co-Working Space, 660 Briggs St

Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate with a high degree of emotional intelligence and interpersonal social skills. Ability to develop strategic plans, related initiatives, and performance measures. Collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across all departments and engage staff at all levels. Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures. Skilled in conflict resolution. Skill and ability to find and evaluate useful information using critical analysis, data tracking, and developing metrics and reports to explain data collected. Ability to work effectively and build rapport with individuals from varied backgrounds and experiences. Ability to pay attention to detail, spot issues, and notice inconsistencies. Skilled in effective time management and ability to set and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and take full responsibility for projects. Skilled in critical thinking skills and ability to analyze issues and recommend solutions. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Environmental Factors: Work will be performed indoors, in a general office environment. Tasks require the frequent use of color discrimination, peripheral vision, near and far visual acuity. Computer use will be frequent and it is necessary that the employee be able to facilitate discussions, receive phone calls, and attend virtual meetings. Traveling will be required to and between various Town facilities and occasional travel to job-related conferences may be necessary. The employee's desk will be located in a shared office space and the employee will be required to maintain professionalism. Physical Factors: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will sit and stand for up to 6 hours a shift and will walk for small amounts of time. Bending over, kneeling, stooping, grasping, lifting objects less than 5 pounds, and reaching for objects such as training supplies weighing less than 5 lbs. will be required occasionally.
