PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Sales Director, Waxes, this Business Development Manager role will focus on the candle industry and driving growth for the TitanWax brand. This role will leverage relationships to add new business, develop innovative candle formulations, and mentor sellers and technical staff to achieve business objectives. The Business Development Manager will provide technical support, troubleshoot key customer problems, and visit key customers and prospects alongside sellers as needed. This individual will support sellers and technical teams in key projects and lead or contribute to all stages of product technical development and deployment for TitanWax used in candles.

Location: Remote with frequent travel to Muncie, IN

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Identify and develop a target list of prospective TitanWax Candle companies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the TitanWax candle business by identifying new opportunities, expanding market presence, and fostering strong customer relationships.
  • Provide technical support to the Sales team through joint customer visits and by developing TitanWax products and supportive marketing tools.
  • Assist sellers and the technical team with key projects, offering technical expertise on the performance of waxes in candles.
  • Provide distributor/customer training (webinar/on site) on TitanWax product line and attend trade shows with sales group to provide technical support for product inquiries
  • Lead or contribute to all stages of product development (candle wax formulation) and deployment for candle applications.
  • Work closely with production and lab facilities to understand and effectively communicate quality control processes and procedures for delivery of product to customers
  • Troubleshoot quality and process issues in determining solutions to assure proper application of products
  • Interact with corporate Technical department in Indianapolis to care for customer requests and phone inquiries, as well as, logging major technical projects on a weekly basis that they receive regarding TitanWax product line.
  • Apply strong teamwork, communication, and presentation skills to translate technical insights into meaningful business needs and develop effective technical support solutions.
  • Present TitanWax effectively to a diverse audience, including technical and non-technical customers and industry participants.
  • Document completed projects to enable efficient replication for future efforts and identify opportunities to improve work processes.
  • Mentor team members across both technology and business areas.
  • Be available for up to 40% travel as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.



REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:



  • Minimum 10 years formulating and manufacturing experience in Candle industry.
  • Technical knowledge of paraffinic, vegetable or synthetic Wax
  • Technical experience in manufacture or development of candles
  • Technical knowledge on Candle ingredients and experience using in candle formulation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of account planning dynamics and metrics (KPI's)
  • Proficiency in use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).



PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:



  • Prior experience interacting with finance and accounting
  • General understanding of logistics regarding transportation and supply
  • In-depth knowledge of the wax industry
