Software Applications Manager

POSITION OBJECTIVE

As the Development Manager at Epiroc, you will cultivate the development of people, processes, and projects that contribute to Epiroc profitable growth, all while adhering to both Epiroc's standards and policies.

Your responsibilities include managing the advancement of the existing software to implement enhancements and rectifying errors. You will be tasked with analyzing, organizing, and accessing information to guarantee the delivery of superior software products.

Furthermore, you will take the lead in assessing and resolving challenges related to technical feasibility, design optimization, and production. Collaborating closely with your team and other departments, you will develop and implement comprehensive strategies that cover design, development, and verification. This collaborative approach will ensure the delivery of high-quality, innovative solutions that meet the company's standards and objectives.

• Recognition of present and future market needs
• Develop products that improve efficiency of manufacture and customer operation
• Reduce environmental impacts of Epiroc products with a continuous improvement goal
• Ability to run global development projects with Epiroc and external resources
• Project execution with respect to target definition and fulfillment, quality assurance/risk taking on time delivery

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a team of software engineers to add new functionality and functionality to Epiroc's autonomous vehicle command and control software
• Create detailed, forward-looking technical roadmaps and designs
• Drive delivery of new technology solutions to mining customers all over the world
• Work with Product Managers to ensure the end product meets customer expectations
• Mentor and train the team on coding practices and standards
• Maintain a process-oriented culture leading the team in developing software products using agile methodologies
• Provide engineering support to customer centers
• Implement efficient methods and tools for development and design work.
• Develop resources and cooperation with other functions
• Consider environmental and safety issues during design processes
• Development of technical and managerial competence with your direct reports
• Determine, monitor, and control monthly and yearly budgets for your department

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 5+ years of management experience
• Minimum of 10+ years of professional software development experience
• Bachelor or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Professional experience programming in C# or similar languages
• Professional experience developing highly scalable API's and 3rd party system integrations
• Full Stack development, including UI, client/server communication, and server-side business logic
• Professional experience with MS Visual Studio
• Professional experience with concurrent, multi-threaded, and asynchronous programming
• The position requires 10% travel and the ability to move around mining job sites
