DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Public Health Program Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the Bureau's logistics plan (Annex G), the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive Plan (Annex R), the Community Reception Center plan for radiological and nuclear responses, and the receive, stage, and store (RSS) components of Pennsylvania's Mass Distribution of Medical Countermeasures and the Strategic National Stockpile's (SNS) program. Work includes managing and tracking the location, expiration dates, and contact information of the cache of statewide emergency response equipment and supplies; providing technical assistance using guidance from the 2024-2029 Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Cooperative Agreement; as well as collaborating with other agencies and participating in grant writing. You will have the opportunity to serve on committees, task forces, and work groups to address current and emerging public health issues as they relate to the SNS and the mass distribution of medical countermeasures to ensure public health partners are informed with updated information.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Free and secure on-site parking
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Public Health Program Associate 2 (commonwealth title);
  • A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance;
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
