Job Summary:

Responsible for leading and building a high-volume, nationally focused government guaranteed lending loan origination team focused on selling government-backed loan products to businesses, managing relationships with key government agencies, and driving significant revenue growth by leveraging the credibility and security of government guaranteed loans.

Responsibilities and Duties:



  • Execute on Veritex's comprehensive national sales strategy to achieve sales targets for government-guaranteed loan products, including identifying market opportunities, defining customer segments, and pricing strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key government agencies responsible for loan guarantee programs, understanding their guidelines and eligibility criteria to effectively present loan solutions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, economic conditions, and government policy changes impacting the government-guaranteed lending market.
  • Ensure all sales activities adhere to relevant government regulations and the Bank's lending guidelines.
  • Track sales performance metrics, generate regular reports on sales activity, and identify areas for improvement.


  • Work collaboratively across GGLD, specifically with other leaders, to support the group's vision, lending goals and team environment.


  • Drives relationship management by identifying cross-selling opportunities and introducing our internal partners to help provide a full banking proposition.
  • Deep/thorough knowledge of GGL credit underwriting standards.
  • Use and understanding of bank technology tools that ensure the lender and the bank's success in performing processes and following procedures necessary to input and track productivity.


Job Skills and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field. Master's degree, preferred.
  • 10+ years of direct government-guaranteed lending and sales management experience.
  • Proven experience leading in commercial lending, with a strong understanding of loan structuring and credit analysis.
  • Deep knowledge of government-guaranteed loan programs, including eligibility criteria, application procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven experience in building high performing teams in government lending.
  • Preferred experience in verticalizing government lending solutions.
  • Preferred experience leveraging technology to increase volume and efficiency in government lending.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of exceeding sales targets in a complex sales environment.
  • Proven leadership abilities to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate loan benefits to potential borrowers.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders within government agencies and Veritex Bank.
  • Existing government guaranteed lending referral network for immediate project pipeline build-out
  • Willingness to travel throughout the US, up to 50% of the time.
