Position Summary The Apprenticeship Coordinator role is responsible for the management and oversight of the apprenticeship program - meeting organization, apprentice, partners and employer sponsors goals; strong focus on recruitment process, matching apprentices to suitable partners and monitor success of each apprentice. Essential Job Duties
- Develop and implement Marine Apprenticeship Program plans, standards, and strategies to meet the needs of the organization, apprentices, partners and employer sponsors from start through implementation and follow-up,
- Lead direct reports, provide guidance and constructive feedback to ensure success of Team Members; includes hire to retirement tasks - recruitment, onboarding and performance evaluations,
- Establish and maintain relationships and collaborate with industry partners, education institutions, community organizations, and Federal and State offices of Apprenticeship to promote and support apprenticeship initiatives,
- Liaise between apprentices, partners, and other organizations to ensure a successful apprenticeship experience,
- Advise and help employer sponsors and stakeholders on the development and implementation of apprenticeship programs,
- Coordinate the recruitment, selection, and placement of apprentices,
- Coordinate the programming for apprentices to ensure all experiences and standards are being met, state/Federal requirements are adhered to, and scheduling ratios comply,
- Monitor apprenticeship program progress, ensuring that program requirements are met and maintained, conduct regular individual progress meetings with apprentices,
- Develop and deliver training to Team Members, employer sponsors, and apprentices on the importance of apprenticeships and relevant topics related to the program,
- Facilitate the resolution of grievances and disputes between employer sponsors, apprentices, and stakeholders,
- Track and report related program performance data and outcomes
- Work related driving/traveling required,
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent,
- Two (2) years' relevant experience, Workforce Development training preferred, Two (2) years' experience managing and implementing a State or Federally approved Apprenticeship program, prefer experience with establishing a Registered Apprenticeship Program,
- Possess or obtain certifications as required (i.e. OSHA),
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously,
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal),
- Knowledge of marine industry regulations and standards,
- Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing and selection processes preferred,
- Ability to collect and analyze data and deliver reports,
- Experience in building and maintaining positive relationships with employer sponsors, apprentices and partners,
- Effective problem-solving skills,
- Ability to understand and enforce labor laws and regulations related to apprenticeships,
- Experience in Microsoft Office (Entry Level Excel, Intermediate Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
