Vanderlande is seeking a talented, business-minded college student to join our Supply Chain Center for North America. As an Intern you will be engaged with continuous improvement projects the Supply Chain organization.

As an Intern, you will be exposed to continuous improvement methodologies and be responsible for a given number of specific tasks / projects to elevate your knowledge of Supply Chain, the ways of Vanderlande and to help identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor's degree program, or a graduate student in a master's degree program

  • Available to work 40 hours per week and complete entire assignment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain or Operations Management, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Business

Requirements:

1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct in-depth analysis of current supply chain processes to identify areas for improvement.

2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and insights.

3. Utilize lean methodologies to develop and implement process improvements.

4. Manage improvement projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.

5. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of implemented changes.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The work environment/physical requirements described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Employee will be working in an warehouse/manufacturing environment. Temperature can vary: cold temperatures of 40 degrees, and will be required to wear jacket or warm/hot temperature of 70+ degrees. Noise levels of 90 decibels can be reached at certain times. Can be exposed to fumes or airborne particles while in manufacturing environment.

  • Required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects, and do repetitive tasks with few breaks

  • Knowledge and utilization of PPE (i.e., safety glasses, gloves, etc.) is required.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception.

  • Operate and maintain equipment and measurement instruments.
