Educational Associate 10 month - Multilingual Learners (25-26)

Provides technical, administrative, and/or instructional support in the day-to-day operations of the enrollment office for multilingual learners. Functions as an educational professional with a focus on supporting the enrollment and assessment of multilingual learners, providing case management, and supporting parents and guardians of newly enrolled multilingual learners. Central to the duties of this office is working to identify, disrupt, and dismantle systems, structures, and practices that have intentionally created and continued to afford advantages to some groups while perpetuating inequities for others.


Essential Functions



  • Assists in the enrollment, choice, and transfer process for multilingual students and families


  • Builds and maintains strong partnerships with district and school-based staff, as well as multilingual students and families


  • Maintains a strong knowledge of district policies, as well as relevant state and federal law, particularly those related to enrollment, the identification of multilingual learners (MLs), and English Language Development (ELD) service


  • Provides professional and technical assistance to administrators, teachers and staff in areas related to enrollment, choice and transfer for multilingual learners (MLs)


  • Supports the Manager - Multilingual Learners to ensure that systems and processes are in place to support efficient and effective functioning of the office


  • Assists in planning and conducting student support and case management


  • Provides clear and accurate information to families regarding enrollment options, school choice processes, and transfer procedures


  • Supports ELD itinerant staff with providing instructional support for teachers and paraprofessional staff, implementation of student services, or operational administration of the district level ELD program under the shared guidance of the ELD Coordinator, Manager - Multilingual Learners, and Director - Multilingual Learners


  • Assists in providing guidance and support to ELD and non-ELD instructional and non-instructional staff at the school and district level as appropriate


  • Plans and implements professional learning regarding enrollment choice and transfer for ELD and non-ELD staff at the school and district level, as well as external stakeholders regarding enrollment choice and transfer


  • Researches and analyzes data and prepares reports and recommendations


  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information


  • Works with ELD Coordinator, Director - Multilingual Learners, Manager - Multilingual Learners, and school leadership to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and requirements


  • Assists in developing Title III grant proposals, implementing Title III grant programs, and reporting Title III grant activities, as well as any other grants serving MLs


  • Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board policies and professional standards

Desired Qualifications


Required:



  • Valid educator license in English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).


  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited college or institution.


  • Five years of ELD teaching or related experience.


  • Excellent oral and written communications and human relations skills.


  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills


  • Proficient in the knowledge and use of technical computer applications including Microsoft Office


  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents


  • Ability to facilitate positive communication and coordination of program activities with teachers, administrators, and staff


  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and prepare reports


  • Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations
