Our Team

We are seeking a highly motivated, forward-thinking Senior BI Engineer to join the Business Intelligence Team. The BI team is responsible for the development and support of the Data Warehouse used for reporting data within Georgia Pacific's Building Product segment. This Data Warehouse serves as the central hub for all reporting data. The team also develops reports and dashboards that help business teams create sustainable value and competitive advantage by leveraging analytics, information, technology, and actionable insights across the enterprise, with a focus on future possibilities in analytics.

The Senior BI Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining/supporting dashboards, analytics, BI models, and data solutions that enable informed and timely business decisions. This role involves participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle to ensure the delivery of quality data products and BI solutions that meet system specifications, quality requirements, and company standards. The position requires working collaboratively with other team members and business analysts, actively participating in peer reviews, and contributing to process improvements.

This role offers the opportunity to leverage the latest AWS and Big Data technologies and work closely with our Business Intelligence team to enhance our decision-making capabilities.

LOCATION ATLANTA, GA (HYBRID)

What You Will Do
* Work with Business analysts and BI team to develop data solution and documentation.
* Analyze features and user requirements to create user stories, design specifications and provides effort estimation for development.
* Data profiling to understand source data grain, enhance or modify existing data model
* Develop business intelligence and data warehousing solutions to meet business needs.
* Expert in building Data Modeling, Data Marts, Data warehouses and ETL jobs.
* Experience defining systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing, and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures and implementing practical business solutions under tight deadlines
* Design and maintain logical, conceptual, and physical data models
* Develop technical specifications to meet functional requirements for reporting and analytics.
* Ensures timely delivery in compliance with specifications and project plans.
* Write complex SQL code (including stored procedures, functions, performance optimization).
* Develop well designed, flawless, secure, testable, and efficient code.
* Build and modify data pipelines and ETLs for loading source system data into the data warehouse for further reporting and analysis.
* Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot existing ETL jobs, BI models and reports.
* Develop standard reports and dashboards based on business requirements.
* Troubleshoot, fix and explain failures/errors in data or dashboards.
* Develop unit test plans and perform unit testing for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
* Develop and maintain technical development standards, implement best practices, and create support processes and documentation
* Apply critical thinking to solve complex problems and communicate effectively with various teams at different levels.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Experience in modeling BI solutions for data from SAP ERP modules like FI, CO, FSCM, PP, MM, PM , QM etc.
* Experience implementing SAP HANA Analytics, plus SAP S/4 HANA, BOBJ
* Strong understanding of Data Warehousing, Data Modelling, HANA modeling, HANA studio; hands on experience in SAP HANA
* Good Understanding of ABAP, SQL based coding principles, table functions, performance tuning

What Will Put You Ahead
* Experience in an Agile environment, git, DevOps / CICD experience
* Administration of SAP Enterprise HANA, SLT Replication server and SDI configuration, maintenance
* Experience in AWS, Glue, Python, Spark, Redshift and other AWS services like Step function, Lambda etc.
* Experience with SSAS tabular model, Power BI dashboards and other data visualizations, actions, bookmarks, paginated reports, Power BI Report Server (PBRS), DAX Queries
