We serve the Agency of Education and the Department of Labor, working collaboratively to enhance the delivery of critical services to Vermonters. We are seeking a talented and motivated IT Systems Developer to join our dynamic team. Position Overview: The Agency of Digital Services is seeking a technologist with an application development focus to help support the Department of Labor's ability to provide exceptional user experience with the modernized unemployment insurance system. We are seeking candidates who can quickly learn new things as well as utilize the tools in-place to achieve success. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an environment where quick issue resolution is often required. Success in this position means you are a self-starter with a positive can-do attitude using good judgment while performing a variety of complex tasks. While current modernization efforts are underway (through May 2026), this position is anticipated to be 100% on site in Montpelier. After this period, this position is part of a team that is currently 80/20 remote, meaning we are in the office 1 day per week. For in-office days, the position will be in Montpelier. Work is performed in a standard office setting and there is significant interaction with users and members of project teams requiring some tact and diplomacy to balance competing views. Work outside of regular work schedule can be anticipated. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science; OR Associate's degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits AND two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
