Job Summary The Journals Program Assistant provides administrative support for the activities and production of Northwestern's student-edited journals with a legacy of over 100 years of scholarship. Under the direct supervision of the Coordinator of Student Journals along with general direction from the Deputy Director and Director at the Pritzker Legal Research Center, the Journals Program Assistant helps ensure smooth production of the print and online scholarship journals. The Journals Program Assistant handles day-to-day journals budget matters with guidance and oversight from the PLRC's Financial Coordinator, coordinates logistics for symposia and events hosted by the journals and responds to matters involving administrative functions associated with student journals operations with guidance from the PLRC's Program Assistant. This role also assists the PLRC's access services department with circulation duties, including retrieving materials and fulfilling requests submitted by journal editors and members and the Northwestern Law and University community. This is a full-time in-person position with the possibility of one remote day per week after three months. Located in the heart of the Gold Coast on Northwestern's Chicago campus, the Pritzker Legal Research Center supports the research and instructional needs of more than 900 J.D. and LL.M. students and 90 residential faculty of the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. The Pritzker Legal Research Center is a highly service-oriented library. We are looking for someone who enjoys building positive working relationships with a wide variety of people ranging from students to peers to faculty members. The successful candidate will join a team of librarians and staff who maintain a very collaborative work environment. The candidate will have the freedom to work independently and must have a strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
