The position of Industrial Engineer is a key role in developing new facilities and maintenance improvement projects. This role is responsible for development of new manufacturing sites as well as the maintenance and upkeep of all the organization's buildings, ensuring that they meet local, State and Federal legal requirements for health and safety standards, OSHA, all permitting requirements and preventive as well as breakdown maintenance actions. This position interfaces with all trades, vendors, governmental agencies for maintenance, regulation and permit reporting and any construction, services, activities regarding the facility, equipment, and facility services.

DUTIES

  • Must possess specific knowledge and expertise in the metal manufacturing/welding and assembly processes. Design assembly and fabrication tooling and fixtures for production floor.
  • Lead product and process improvement in the fabrication, assembly and test process. Interface with and support the manufacturing floor, including facilitating a technical exchange, teaching and training.
  • Provide technical assistance to operators in the work units and serve as a resource for removing obstacles to success. Troubleshoot problems with existing designs, including but not limited to production assembly, test, machining, and process problems, as well as plant and equipment designs, issues, and needs.
  • Work closely with suppliers to resolve material issues including product improvement, discrepant material and lead time reduction, capital assets, tooling, work devises and tools. Provide manufacturing cost estimate for existing products and new product proposals, capital equipment, facility remodeling, tooling and fixtures, services, new facility leases and purchases.
  • Work with Design Engineers to ensure BOM's and Routers match manufacturing locations capabilities.
  • Drive efficiency and quality improvements through state-of-the-art manufacturing tools and techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Technology.
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment, with strong knowledge of electrical systems and local building codes. Familiarity with electro-mechanical manufacturing processes is a plus.
  • Highly skilled at reading electrical, mechanical & architecture blueprints and specifications, building and city codes.
  • Training /education in Lean/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement methods is desired.
  • Bilingual Skills (English/Spanish) highly desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Excel and Word.

BUSINESS TRAVEL

  • Travel to Tecate, Mexico facility and other domestic manufacturing locations as required. Travel to any Econolite office, facility as required.

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this full-time position is $85,000 - $107,000 per year, plus benefits. Pay ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
