About the Role:

As Wiley continues to transform our marketing technology capabilities, we require a strong leader to spearhead our journey orchestration and marketing automation platforms. This role is crucial in driving our digital and automation initiatives forward through our new technology stack and operating model. The individual will assist the Senior Director, Marketing Automation, in the development, deployment and integration of platforms as well as process flows to support business operations, enhance efficiency and drive growth. The role involves a blend of technical expertise, deep understanding of data, platform synchronization and marketing acumen.

The ideal candidate understands enablement and scale through systems thinking. They will oversee the development of data flows, templates and processes that will be leveraged by their peers in journey orchestration and field marketing. This role is accountable for developing a well governed, flexible platform that allows for the development of creative, journey led campaigns that integrate across the digital experience landscape. Partnering with advanced analytics, information technology and digital experience platforms teams will be critical to the success of the team.

In this role you will leverage Customer Data (CDP) and analytics platforms to create a powerfully connected journey optimization and marketing automation platform. Experience with integrating across platforms while maintaining consistency in user experience and front end activation a big plus. There will be equal parts building the new standard, next generation platform and ensuring that existing business needs are met.

How you will make an impact:

  • Collaboration. with other digital, web and data units with the aim for continual enrichment of our marketing automation platform with new assets, data points etc.
  • Platform Healthcare. Establishing best practices, creation of automated repositories, automation scheduling, data logging.
  • Performance monitoring and Quality Assurance. Regularly monitor the performance of the automation platform, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and user experience.
  • Innovation. Actively participate and contribute innovative ideas and approaches to enhance project outcomes and digital capabilities
  • Data expertise. Provide direction across the team and digital units on efficient data employment for marketing automation.

What we look for:

  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of marketing automation platforms, technologies and operations.
  • Solid understanding of data, including governance, and platforms e.g. CRM, CDP, warehouse.
  • Good understanding of information technology, software development life cycles, and architectural frameworks.
  • Precision in documenting requirements, specifications, and project details to ensure clarity and alignment with objectives.
  • Good knowledge of Agile methodology.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements, technologies, and project priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex business issues and develop appropriate technical solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with diverse groups of stakeholders, including business users, Digital professionals, and management.

The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles either in the UK, Canada or USA. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
