Description CE Reeve Roofing Redefined Job Title: Sheet Metal Fabricator Position Identification: Non-Exempt Reports to: Superintendent Position Summary: The Sheet Metal Fabricator is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products according to blueprints and customer specifications. This position requires hands-on experience with various sheet metal fabrication tools and machinery, ensuring that high-quality standards are met while working in a safe and efficient manner. The fabricator will report directly to the Superintendent for guidance and task assignment. Job Functions:
- Fabrication & Assembly: Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products from raw materials based on blueprints, schematics, and customer specifications.
- Tool Use: Operate hand and power tools (e.g., shears, presses, drills) to cut, shape, and form sheet metal components.
- Quality Control: Inspect fabricated parts to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards, ensuring precision and accuracy.
- Machine Operation: Operate and maintain fabrication machinery to ensure proper functionality and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment, and machines used in fabrication.
- Team Support: Assist other team members and collaborate with craftsmen to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.
- Physical Labor: Perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving materials, using hand tools, and working in the fabrication shop environment.
- Weight Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds unaided and perform tasks requiring physical strength and stamina.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using sheet metal fabrication tools (shears, presses, drills) and reading technical drawings or blueprints.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable):
- Additional Skills: Familiarity with various sheet metal processes (cutting, bending, assembling) and understanding of safety procedures in fabrication.
