The Director of Social Services is under the direction of the BH Executive Director, this position is responsible for developing, plan, organize, implement, and evaluate clinical service programs for both inpatient and outpatient within the BHC facility. Responsibilities include timely, accurate completion of clinical assessments of patients, organizing and monitoring daily program schedules, serving as referral liaison, adhere to federal and state court requirements as well as discharge planning. Supervise all clinical services and related healthcare staff to improve quality of life for behavioral health patients. Understand appropriate aspects of financial, legal, human resources, marketing, technology, and clinical services responsibilities of the behavioral health program. Assist by answering questions posed by patients, families, staff, management, and government officials. Train and hire staff, coordinate work schedules, supervise staff and maintain disciplinary actions and performance. Oversee departmental budget, work with BD Director on applicable grant funding projects. Responds to Codes as requested. Hours are based on departmental, and facility needs, and may include day, evening, and weekend hours, as directed by Executive Director. Participate in Administrator on Call if requested. Provide AIDET and Service Excellence to all patients, staff, and visitors by Aiken Regional's Aurora Pavilion.

Duties:

• Manages all aspects for outpatient and inpatient services, including scheduling, payroll, hiring, orientation, training, data tracking and trending
• Assists Administrator in operational duties and provide daily/weekly/monthly reporting
• Serves as a patient and family liaison with therapist and patient advocacy
• Coordinates all aspects of patient case management. Address issues and concerns from patients, patient families and staff. Responsible for Court and involuntary commitment in reference to DE and Court dates.
• Supervises cognitive behavioral therapies. Responsible for providing therapy and Activity therapy coverage 7 days per week and maintaining compliance and development for inpatient services.
• Work with assessment, discharge and nursing to coordinate flow of patients. Provides back-up call for Assessment staff.
• Policy and Procedure development and review for facility and CMS Documentation standards. Responsible for oversight of Friendly data tracking and input
• Facilitates process groups and education groups.
• Ensure charges are documented for provided services.
• Oversight with referring and receiving community agencies such as Aiken Senior Life and Lyft Transportation
• Communicate with referral sources to ensure satisfaction and coordination of care.
• Ensures collection, review and incorporation of customer feedback to improve services.
• PHP/IOP Development and identification of impatient step-down. Oversee treatment teams and data input. Monthly chart auditing review and reporting.
• Provide clinical supervision for interns, inpatient and outpatient staff.
• On-call for administration required.
• Demonstrate the ability to differentiate between circumstances that require involuntary vs. voluntary patient admission as evidenced by the use of court ordered treatment in appropriate cases.
• Demonstrate the ability to identify and evaluate the bio-psycho-social factors that influence the diagnoses and treatments of patients needing mental health assistance as evidenced by appropriate completion of the accurate summary of clinical findings.
• Develop and organize programs of clinical services based on specialized patient populations
• Develop goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to the operational needs of the programs staff and patient care.
• Develop and direct a system that ensures that individual patients and their families are involved in the development of individualized treatment plans.
• Maintain an active involvement and awareness of all patient admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Meet regularly with facility Managers, Directors, and the Medical Director and program staff to ensure compliance with program goals and objectives.
• Oversight and supervision of Court Processes and involuntary status
• If assigned by CEO/Executive Director, provide clinical supervision to assigned staff.
• Ensure Clinical Services patient care and treatment is handled in accordance to all federal and SC state requirements.
• Manage assigned caseload to include individual patient contact per established frequency as evidenced via documentation as needed.
• Other duties as needed.

Requirements:

Education: Minimum of master's degree in social work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field from an accredited and licensed eligible program.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in behavioral health with at least 3 years of clinical inpatient and/or outpatient experience. Prefer experience to be with high volume admissions and familiarity with SC state court systems. 1BH setting in a supervisory position.

License or Registration Requirements: State licensure required (LMSW, LISW, LPC, or similar license)
