Director of Social Services Since 1991, Aurora Pavilion Behavioral Health Services(as part of Aiken Regional Medical Centers) has brought renewed hope for those suffering from emotional and behavioral disorders, and those with alcohol and substance use disorders. The 62-bed facility, located on the campus of Aiken Regional Medical Centers, is accredited by The Joint Commission. The facility offers comprehensive, individualized treatment services by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, clinicians, mental health technicians and recreation therapists who are committed to high quality care. Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. Visit us online at: https://www.aikenregional.com The Director of Social Services is under the direction of the BH Executive Director, this position is responsible for developing, plan, organize, implement, and evaluate clinical service programs for both inpatient and outpatient within the BHC facility. Responsibilities include timely, accurate completion of clinical assessments of patients, organizing and monitoring daily program schedules, serving as referral liaison, adhere to federal and state court requirements as well as discharge planning. Supervise all clinical services and related healthcare staff to improve quality of life for behavioral health patients. Understand appropriate aspects of financial, legal, human resources, marketing, technology, and clinical services responsibilities of the behavioral health program. Assist by answering questions posed by patients, families, staff, management, and government officials. Train and hire staff, coordinate work schedules, supervise staff and maintain disciplinary actions and performance. Oversee departmental budget, work with BD Director on applicable grant funding projects. Responds to Codes as requested. Hours are based on departmental, and facility needs, and may include day, evening, and weekend hours, as directed by Executive Director. Participate in Administrator on Call if requested. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in behavioral health with at least 3 years of clinical inpatient and/or outpatient experience. Prefer experience to be with high volume admissions and familiarity with SC state court systems. 1BH setting in a supervisory position.
