The Investment Management Group of the Chicago office is looking for an associate (class of 2022-2019) with experience in 1940 Act registered funds and business development company work. High level of academic achievement and experience in the investment management group of a peer firm is preferred.

Skadden's Investment Management Group advises funds, fund sponsors, underwriters and other service providers on the structuring, offering, operation, ongoing financing and regulation of registered investment companies, including closed-end funds, mutual funds and ETFs, and business development companies, for whose boards of directors we also provide corporate and regulatory advice. We have played a major role in key developments and innovations in the investment management arena, including advice with respect to listed and non-traded and privately offered closed-end funds and business development companies, rights offerings for closed-end funds, preferred stock and other leveraging strategies for closed-end funds and business development companies, and other types of emerging registered and regulated investment company structures and strategies. We work closely with our M&A colleagues on 1940 Act matters in connection with asset manager M&A transactions.
