Basic Function

As a member of the Global Compensation Team, you will provide analytical support to the evaluation and implementation of compensation plans, policies, and procedures to meet business objectives and define competitive practices in the area of global compensation. While this position focuses on the Americas region, you will also assist on projects that are global in nature and provide Compensation support for other regions as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Job Evaluation: Perform job evaluation and pricing requests using general and industry-specific competitive market data and review job evaluations from other regions
  • Own and monitor the global Job Evaluation KPI's in cooperation with the other regions; escalate when SLA's are not met
  • Lead the regional salary survey submission for the Americas, as well as participation in numerous spot surveys
  • Partner with our global compensation vendors in a professional manner; manage contracts and invoices
  • Annual Cycle Activities: Assist in compiling global market data as part of the annual merit and salary structure evaluation process
  • Provide analytical support during the annual bonus and merit cycle to include various data analyses and maintenance of internal templates
  • Special Projects/Other Activities: Participate as a project member in projects that may arise during the year
  • Assist in monitoring the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures. Provide competitive data to support the development of and revision to compensation plans
  • Provide counsel as needed to Human Resources colleagues on compensation issues; Respond to questions applying high customer satisfaction standards
  • Participate in the documentation and communication of compensation plans and policies within the company
  • Maintain knowledge of global compensation laws and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Provide other analytical support throughout the year as needed

Min. Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is required and a specialized degree in Management, Human Resources, Finance or related field is preferred. A CCP certification is considered a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years in Compensation or relevant experience in Finance or HR in a multinational environment(required). Experience in the Chemical/Oil & Gas is considered a plus.
  • Understanding the strengths and limitations of market data and applying judgement as to the appropriate use
  • Proficient practical knowledge of the platforms of the major market data/salary survey providers (e.g. Mercer/WTW/KornFerry/PayFactors)
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English
  • Ability to interface effectively with Human Resources colleagues and management
  • Ability to work on multiple, diverse projects in a fast-pace environment with limited supervision
  • Results oriented; combining a can-do attitude with a collaborative orientation
  • Embracing the cultural differences that exist across the regions and adapting appropriately
