Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
Position Overview:

The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Specialist contributes to maintaining and improving EH&S programs to ensure compliance, workplace safety, and environmental stewardship. This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days onsite with no travel and serves as a leave of absence backfill. The Specialist will collaborate with facilities, R&D, and other departments under the guidance of a Senior EH&S Specialist to ensure safety and compliance across the site.


Key Responsibilities:
Program Support & Compliance:

  • Provide general support to the EH&S function across all operations.
  • Maintain and implement EH&S programs, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Actively support the site's Behavioral-Based Safety program and assist in reducing workplace injury frequency and severity rates.
  • Perform hazard assessments and risk reduction initiatives.


Audits & Inspections:

  • Participate in internal and external EH&S compliance audits, self-assessments, and inspections.
  • Ensure the facility maintains ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications.


Training & Communication:

  • Coordinate and deliver EH&S-related training for staff.
  • Communicate effectively across the organization to promote safety and compliance initiatives.


Regulatory & Safety Management:

  • Support ergonomic initiatives and hazardous waste management programs.
  • Provide hands-on support for compliance with safety and environmental regulations in an R&D setting.
  • Understand and follow through on Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Procedures.


Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational safety, health, and environmental management.
  • Experience in regulatory compliance, hazard assessments, risk assessments, and ergonomics.
  • Proficiency in both safety and environmental regulations, including hazardous waste management.


Preferred:

  • Hands-on experience in an R&D work environment.
  • Ability to make sound EH&S decisions aligned with strategic business goals.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to work independently and with cross-functional teams.


Job Details:

  • Location: Hybrid (4 days onsite).
  • Schedule: No travel required.
