About the role:
In an Intellectual Property Counsel role, you will manage legal business matters to protect the enterprise's rights in intellectual property, contract negotiations, settlements, litigation and business practices. Your focus will be on trademarks and related intellectual property matters.

About the team:

The FIS LegalDepartmentis comprised of approximately 200 attorneys and paraprofessionals worldwide who enjoy being an advisor to and partner with our businesses to help the company achieve its goals. We work collaboratively with each other and with our business colleagues to solve problems in an effective and pragmatic manner. We view our role asone ofsupportingour business leaders in a variety of legal matters, andwestrive to assistourbusinesses in meeting their objectives with sound, reasonable and well-considered legal counsel.

What you will be doing:

* Primary focus on trademarks, advertising and branding legal issues. Will also provide legal advice and counsel related to other intellectual property issues that arise for the business units.
* Performing legal research and analysis on IP issues and other information technology law issues.
* Advise colleagues on legal issues relating to intellectual property.

What you will need:

* Experience with intellectual property legal issues with an emphasis on trademark, advertising and branding issues.
* Ability to review and evaluate multi-faceted issues and counsel business colleagues on complex legal questions relating to various business matters.
* A college degree and a Juris Doctor from an accredited US law school
* Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
