Job Summary
The Cardiologist is accountable for carrying out clinical and administrative duties, as applicable, in a manner to promote high-quality clinical services and excellence in education and training programs at Beaumont.
ASSIGNMENT: STEMI Call Coverage Program
Essential Functions
- Be available to adjudicate questionable EKG's within 5 minutes.
- Call back within 5 minutes of receiving a STEMI activation page.
- Arrive to the cath lab within 30 minutes of activation or be available to initiate the procedure within 5 minutes of the patient being ready.
- Physicians may be on-call at more than one hospital at a time but they must have a panel approved back up physician immediately available to cover in the event of multiple activations at or around the same time.
- Complete all clinical documentation, as applicable, in a timely manner consistent with health system, payer and regulatory requirements, if applicable.
- Participate in activities related to improving operational and financial performance, quality and patient satisfaction as requested.
- On-call responsibilities will last for 24 hours according to the on-call schedule.
- On-call switches must be approved in advance by the medical staff office. Last minute changes or changes after hours must be approved by the Department.
- Covering physicians must have a valid STEMI on-call contract; otherwise, the Department will assign a replacement physician.
- Reasonable on-call accommodations are available upon request.
- Physician may be removed from the on-call panel by the Department for failure to comply with performance expectations.
Qualifications
- Required Doctorate Graduate of approved Medical College
- 2 years of relevant experience Have been a member of the Beaumont medical staff for at least two (2) years. Required
- LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
- LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CRT-Board Certification MD - AMBS American Board of Medical Specialties Upon Hire required Or
- CRT-Board Certification DO - AOA American Osteopathic Association Upon Hire required
