Position Overview

The role of the Accounts Payable Associate is to maintain a relationship with our internal customers as well as our Domestic and Global vendors and to coordinate efforts to ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies the validity of invoices received
  • Ensures proper approvals are received prior to payment
  • Enters invoices in SAP and Concur for payment, ensuring proper cost center and general ledger coding
  • Researches and follows through with vendor requests for outstanding invoice payments
  • Interfaces with other New Era Departments on invoice resolutions
  • Notifies Vendor Owner of any changes to a vendor address, bank account for wires, name, or any other pertinent information to validate and prevent any fraudulent risk
  • Assists with Accounts Payable reconciliation and follow up on open items
  • Prepares accounts payable documents for archiving
  • Cross-trains on all applications and steps involved in payment process (i.e., Concur Invoice, SAP ECC, etc.)
  • Continuously analyzes and provides process improvement recommendations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the department
  • Provides support for key finance projects, initiatives, and technology implementations
  • Provides additional support to the finance team as deemed necessary
  • Keeps sensitive information confidential
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to learn and utilize new systems
  • Ability to establish relationships and interact with various levels within the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and efficiently prioritize workday to maximize productivity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
  • Enthusiastic, pro-active, and positive person who adapts to change and with urgency and persistence
  • The ability to be innovative and creative when handling difficult business challenges
  • SAP Concur & SAP ECC experience preferred

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred. Additional experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Zero (0) to Two (2) years of Accounts Payable or other finance related experience required

  • 0% to 5%

The salary range for this posted position is $40,000 - $48,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
