Research and Development Associate I
Location: Morrisville, NC 27560

Job Summary:

The Research and Development Associate I is responsible for supporting the key functional, tactical, and operational aspects of QC Microbiology. This position will focus on environmental and utility monitoring, sampling, and testing. The ideal candidate should possess a fundamental understanding of Quality Systems and be able to apply these principles to daily functions while adhering to GMP standards. This role requires effective communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision within a team framework across all business areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform sampling and testing in support of QC Microbiology functions.
  • Provide timely review and correction of data and documentation generated by QC Microbiology.
  • Initiate exceptions/deviations as necessary and support investigations.
  • Maintain effective laboratory systems to ensure the integrity of results.
  • Participate in basic technical problem-solving and escalate issues as needed.
  • Assist with other tasks and duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • AS degree, BS degree, or equivalent technical degree (1-2 years college).

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • 0-2 years in a comparable/related role with scientific laboratory experience, including some experience with cGMP practices.

Scope and Accountability:

  • Work within a team to complete assigned tasks with limited supervision.
  • Responsible for managing assignments and meeting deadlines with an understanding of business priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.

Physical and Schedule Requirements:

  • This position involves standing for up to 6 hours per day.
  • Candidates must be flexible with their schedule, as they will be required to work starting at 7 AM at least once or twice a week for environmental monitoring.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in environmental monitoring and utility monitoring within a manufacturing facility.
