Purpose and Scope

Under general supervision, the Payroll Associate is responsible for assisting with the payroll function to include accurate and timely completion of payroll processing tasks while maintaining confidentiality, preparation of fundings, reconciliations and related reports as well as responding to inquiries related to payroll processes and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Assist with all aspects of payroll processing including:


  • Verification of time card entries including follow up with missing/incorrect entries
  • New hire onboarding to payroll
  • Input of employee change notifications such as wage changes, tax and address changes, garnishment/tax levies/child support orders, terminations and other employment information
  • Assist with month-end reporting
  • Transmitting of semi-monthly payrolls


  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • Basic knowledge of payroll and payroll tax laws.
  • Knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Skill in effective time management and organization.
  • Effective math skills to calculate payments and deductions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.

Education & Experience



  • Associate's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One or more year's experience in payroll processing.


Working Conditions

Working conditions are normal for an office environment.

Compensation and Benefits



  • Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on experience
