Overview

The Director of Planning and Initiative Development, in partnership with departmental leadership, is responsible for developing strategic partnerships with the executive and senior leaders across Children's Mercy to develop and execute on the health systems strategic plan and all associated Strategic Initiatives. To ensure success of both the Strategic Plan and Strategic Initiatives, this role is responsible for the ongoing operations and management of the Enterprise Initiative Management process, including, but not limited to identification, development, and evaluation of all "covered" initiatives. The Director of Planning and Initiative Development reports to the Senior Director of Strategic Services.

Responsibilities

    Partners with executive and senior leaders across the enterprise to identify and develop strategic initiatives that support the success of the organizations strategic plan.
  • Partners with executive and senior leaders across the enterprise to development divisional level strategic plans that support the success of the organizations strategic plan.
  • Strategic Partnership: Lead partnership and growth efforts across the priority markets, on building relationships and hospital reputation resulting in strategic positioning with the referral markets.
  • Personnel Management: Provide appropriate guidance, feedback, and coaching for staff to develop and flourish as well as being a role model and mentor for other leaders and staffing for staff to develop and flourish.


Qualifications

  • Master's Degree and 5-7 years' experience. Prior upper-level leadership and management experience working with executive leaders within a hospital or healthcare setting is required. Knowledge of hospital strategic plans, hospital operations, ambulatory clinic operations, and employed physician practices is preferred. Pediatric experience is a bonus. Applicant must have experience in developing successful and proven strategies for a highly complex organization. OR
  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 or more years of experience required. Prior upper level leadership and management experience working with executive leaders within a hospital or healthcare setting is required. Knowledge of hospital strategic plans, hospital operations, ambulatory clinic operations, and employed physician practices is preferred. Pediatric experience is a bonus. Applicant must have experience in developing successful and proven strategies for a highly complex organization.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $62.06/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based upon your education and experience.



Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is entirely remote or work-from-home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area and may attend on-site meetings, as scheduled.
