The Associate Design Engineer participates in the designing of complex electrohydraulic, electromechanical, mechanical, electronic and electro pneumatic components and systems that will become the new products of Moog, Inc. The Associate Design Engineer performs routine engineering work, creates computer models and complex design layouts of new products; modifications or complete repackaging of existing or similar products using various manual and computer aided techniques. The incumbent also is an active participant with Manufacturing Engineering to convert computer solid models into automated manufacturing processes.

Here's what you will be doing:

  • Understand and translate project requirements emanating from a variety of sources, creating computer models, layouts, detailed engineering drawings.
  • Contribute to a cost effective design and functional products by working closely with Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Create and check detail drawings for completeness and accuracy, insures the Bill of Material (Parts List) for product design is accurate and complete.
  • In conjunction with Engineering, insures basic integrity of designs and layouts using correctness of proportionality, sizing, dimensional accuracy, tolerance limits, and conforming to Moog's use of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) application practices.
  • Shall possess experience and in-depth knowledge in utilization of Siemens NX Mcad design software. Knowledge of Teamcenter PLM is preferred.
  • Suggests or specifies materials to conform to design requirements, and assist in the selection of acceptable processing procedures.
  • The incumbent must also have a working knowledge of configuration management and Teamcenter Release Workflow practices.
  • Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical reputation.

Here's what you will need to bring with you:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 2-3 years of design experience or
  • Technical Associates Degree with 8-10 years of exceptional Design Drafting experience, plus 2-4 years of Engineering Experience.
  • Working knowledge of engineering principles, documentation standards, and drafting practices.
  • Experience communicating with the technical community including customers and vendors.
  • Experience handling multiple activities while staying structured and organized.
  • Proficient usage of mechanical CAD (Mcad) tools.
  • Ability to travel domestic and/or internationally - approximately 5%.
  • Ability to access U.S. export controlled information.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $70,000.00-$85,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
