Department:ICE | IMSL Family Medicine CenterDepartment's Website: Summary of Job Duties:The Medical Assistant, (MA), works under the direct supervision of the clinic physician by assisting in the examination and treatment of patients. The MA will conduct patient interviews, measure vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and record information on patients' Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The MA will also draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. It also prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. The MA may also perform administrative tasks by registering and scheduling patients for appointments, procedures, etc. using the various registrations and scheduling systems.This position has the potential to float to other IMSL clinics. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED PLUS Successful completion of the Medical Assistant training program. BLS (CPR) Certification. Ability to perform point-of-care testing, draw and collect blood specimens, and prepare for laboratory processing. Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy and MA experience.
