Now hiring a Cybersecurity Engineer!

Presbyterian is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer. Under general supervision, this position will oversee the design, purchase, installation, and support of information security systems. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation requires evaluation and judgment. Responsible for evaluating current systems. Assists in the planning of large scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies. Requires detailed knowledge of cyber security systems, networks, and applications.

The ideal candidate will have:

Technical Expertise/ Firewalls:

  • knowledge of configuring and managing Palo Alto firewalls or other firewall solutions.
  • Knowledge in implementing and troubleshooting GlobalProtect VPNs or other VPN solutions.
  • Familiarity with Palo Alto's or other firewall threat prevention and URL filtering features

Additional preferences are:

LogRhythm SIEM:

  • Hands-on experience configuring LogRhythm SIEM or other SIEM solutions.
  • Ability to develop and optimize custom dashboards, alerts, and rules.
  • Knowledge of log ingestion, parsing, and normalization.

Database Monitoring:

  • Proficiency in deploying and managing Imperva SecureSphere or DAM solutions.
  • Knowledge of database activity monitoring and compliance reporting.
  • Ability to write policies for database protection and audit.
  • Experience with analyzing database activity logs for potential threats.

Cybersecurity Skills

  • Understanding of network security principles, intrusion detection, and prevention systems.
  • Experience with incident detection, response, and threat intelligence.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management and penetration testing tools.

Certifications (Preferred but Not Mandatory)

  • Palo Alto Certifications: PCNSA (Network Security Administrator) or PCNSE (Network Security Engineer).
  • LogRhythm Certifications: LogRhythm Certified Security Analyst (LRSA) or similar.
  • Imperva Certifications: Certified SecureSphere Database Security Administrator or Engineer.
  • General Certifications: CISSP, CEH, CISM, or GIAC certifications (e.g., GSEC, GCIA).


Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in related technical/business area plus 4 years of IT or business experience. 6 years of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of degree (10 years of experience)


Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed system design, enhancements and implementation of information security solutions and technical controls for smaller scope projects.
  • Provides detailed technical expertise and assistance and guidance for problem resolution, system transitions, migrations, project support engineering, and consolidations.
  • Configure and manage products in the security operations portfolio to assist in detection, prevention and analysis of security threats.
  • Maintains and repairs information security hardware.
  • Defines and manages standards and technology roadmaps and performs capacity planning for the area of specialty for smaller scope projects.
  • Develops standard operating procedures for the Cyber Security Analysts
  • Conducts device forensics, vulnerability scans and penetration testing on systems to discover exploitable weaknesses.
  • Manage and track vulnerability remediation and mitigation efforts.
  • Participates in all aspects of security incident response from identification, containment, investigation, eradication, recovery, and all necessary follow-up activities.
  • Escalates more complex issues to Cyber Security Engineer - Senior as necessary
