The Senior Art Director will join OUTFRONT XLabs, the award-winning, cross-disciplinary, creative innovation group focused on the intersection of human-centered design and outdoor media. The group is dedicated to integrating emerging technologies into out of home to power cutting-edge creative, today and tomorrow.

The Role

As the Senior Art Director in the OUTFRONT XLabs group, you will be a key representative of the Digital Creative team. You will lead all creative concepting and design efforts, including the generation of presentation and documentation materials, and be responsible for the management of all creative and visual design workstreams. The right candidate will be a hands-on contributor, while embracing a cross-functional and collaborative approach to partnering with other disciplines. Throughout OUTFRONT, the XLabs group is known for its strong relationships, where our proactive, solution-oriented methodology has led to great results for our stakeholders. We're looking for someone who can be hands-on in developing experiential and digital home activations for a range of clients, large-scale national to regional/local. The ideal candidate will also have an understand of emerging tech, including how to productively use generative AI tools to aid in concepting, as well as a handle on social creative development on all major platforms.

Responsibilities

Digital Campaign Creative - Some clients and agencies will turn to us to produce digital concepts, and you will be responsible for the art direction of the design and production team's efforts. In this aspect of your role you will be serving as the conceptual and artistic lead for digital creative for OUTFRONT sales, marketing, and business development teams and external agency, brand, and client partners. You will be expected to lead the concepting and design (Think + Make) efforts in addition to contributing to and soliciting ideas from your team, and beyond.

Client Pitch Creative - Specific digital ideas that excite and intrigue clients are the best way to support OUTFRONT Media sales efforts. You will be responsible for generating concepts and producing comps, from written prompts for generative-AI-based imagery, to custom comps, to various degrees of completeness and fidelity, for client pitch initiatives.

Social Media and Display Advertising Campaigns: Create high-quality and engaging visuals for paid social media campaigns targeting B2B audiences. This includes static images, storyboarding animated graphics. Ensure that all creative assets align with OUTFRONT brand guidelines, effectively capture the audience's attention, and drive home a clear call to action.

Iterative Design: Strategically refine and optimize creative assets based on performance data and feedback to improve campaign effectiveness.

Production and Platform Optimization: Ensure all creative assets are tailored and optimized for Meta and LinkedIn specifications and best practices.

Collaborate with Teams: You will partner with the Digital Creative Producer on day to day paid social media work, pitch work, and campaign creative. Work closely with marketing and strategy teams to understand campaign objectives and translate them into impactful designs.

Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest design trends, social media best practices, and platform updates. This would also include the ability to work with new software, and new features of existing software as those become available.

The Requirements

  • Professional Experience: 3-5 years' experience working as a digital designer, or art director with a strong focus on digital campaign development.
  • A portfolio of work and the ability to speak to the creative intention behind all previous work shown.
  • Effective communicator with excellent verbal presentation skills.
  • Skilled in design software with superior mastery of Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign with intermediary skills/knowledge of Premiere, 3D software skills (Blender, C4D or comparable) are a big plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Teams, Planner, Outlook, OneDrive. Working knowledge of Figma a plus. Working knowledge of generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Midjourney, etc including prompting and adjusting outputs, is a plus.
  • Excel in visual design including the creation of sketches, visual comps, infographics, storyboards, presentations, sales collateral, marketing materials, typography, and icon design for web, mobile and print.
  • Social media: In-depth knowledge of Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and LinkedIn advertising various ad formats such as image ads, video ads, carousel ads, and story ads, as well as their respective specifications and best practices in relation to B2B campaigns.
  • Creative Skills: Strong visual design skills with a keen eye for aesthetics, typography, detail, and storytelling in motion.

The salary range for this role is $80,000-100,000. Compensation is determined during our interview process by assessing a candidate's experience and skills relative to internal peers and market benchmarks evaluated for the scope and responsibilities of the position.
