The Benefits and Leave Specialist is responsible for administering and managing employee benefitsprograms and leave of absence processes. This position ensures compliance with federal and stateregulations while providing support and guidance to employees on leave.

In this role, you will be required to exercise discretion, independent judgment and possess expert knowledge of related laws, regulations, policies, rules and procedures. You will also recommend new methods and tools for enhancing the leave of absence process.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, and retirement plans.

  • Coordinate benefits enrollment process during open enrollment, life events, and for new hires.

  • Evaluate leave requests and recommend appropriate action, and serve as the primary point of contact for employees on leave, maintaining open communication and providing guidance throughout the leave process.

  • Administer leave of absence programs, including multi-state specific disability and family/parental leave programs, company-specific disability and leave programs, FMLA, ADA, LTD and Workers' Compensation.

  • Track and manage leave requests and balances, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.

  • Assist employees with benefit and leave inquiries, providing information and guidance on available resources and options, while demonstrating proactive decision-making and problem-solving skills.

  • Prepare and distribute communication materials related to benefits and leave updates.

  • Ensure all benefits and leave policies are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Prepare and submit necessary reports and filings in a timely manner.

  • Stay informed about legislative changes that may impact benefits and leave policies.

  • Maintain and update employee benefits and leave records in HRIS systems.

  • Analyze benefits and leave data to provide insights and recommendations for program improvements.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve benefits and leave processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in benefits administration or multi-state leave management.

  • Strong knowledge of benefits laws and regulations.

  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits management software.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with state-specific leave laws (e.g., California Family Rights Act, New Jersey Family Leave Insurance).

What we offer:
Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a 401(k) plan, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross salary range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000. This role is eligible to earn an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
